Visita del padre de Mateo

El pasado viernes Pedro, el padre de Mateo, nos visitó para traernos un gran regalo. Se trata de un puzzle gigante de Asia. El puzzle lo ha hecho él mismo y permite jugar con aquellos países con los que trabajamos en el taller de padres: China, Japón, Indonesia, Tailandia y la India. Aprovechando el puzzle hemos hecho un mural con las fotos del día del taller. 

Last projects

We had many original projects last week! Damian and Ethan measured the blood pleasure of their classmates. 

Mateo, David and Miguel used a Buda instead of a pyramid to explain healthy food. And they also interviewed a doctor about food we should eat. Dario and Iván talked about jobs that provide first-aid services. 

 

 Adrián and Jose Manuel talked about a healthy diet and they created a school menu. 

 Ángela and Nuria explained the importance of blood donations. 

 Celia and Laura taught very useful instructions about first-aids. 

Ana and Lucía wrote a complete book about food and its benefits. Sofia and Ashley searched about some important invenctions for medicine.

 

 Enrique and Nacho created a food pyramid. As well as Rocío and Julia. 

 Olga and Ariadna searched about how to conserve food in order to prevent illnesses. 

 Joaquín and álvaro talked about medical invenctions and they created a video in which they interviewed Alexander Fleming. Here yo have the link to watch it again:

English test unit 5: FUTURE

As you already know, English test unit 5 is going to be next Tuesday 4th of April. 

What do you have to know for the test?

• Sentences with "will": they are used for making predictions about the future, you have to know how to use them in affirmative, negative and questions. Example: My sister will study sciences at the university. People won´t use cars. Will people drive electric cars? Where will you live in the future? 
• Zero conditional: sentences in preent simple expressing conditions, for example "If Jim is hungry, he goes to the kitchen" or "If you come to our country, don´t eat plants".
• Vocabulary: eat, drink, cook, travel, study, work, watch, drive, become, people, holidays, technology, transport. 
• Remember to review the "s" in present simple with third person singular. 
• You will have to write a short writing about how do you imagine the future in 50 years, remember you wrote some ideas with the assistants.

New projects!

Last week we had some new projects. All of them were amazing! 

Raquel and Alexandra had a very creative idea. They organized a game to practise the food pyramid. Their project was beautiful and original. 

Jaime and Adrián made their presentation on power point. It was about medicines and inventions. They love technology!! 

Marta and Julia created a book to explain the properties of different food. They had a great idea and everyone loved it! 

Yago and Victor talked about healthy food with the slogan: Eat healthy, be happy! 

They described two types of menus: a healthy one and an unhealthy one. 

Very good kids! 

Social sciences unit 3: What do you have to know?

WATER

• Hydrosphere: definition, types of water and places where you can find them.
• States of the water: solid, liquid, gas, ice, water vapour, melting, evaporation, condensation, freezing. 
• Water cycle: stages and description of the process.
• Underground water: what is an aquifer, a well and a spring? what is the origin of the underground water? 
• Rivers of Spain: Miño, Duero, Tajo, Guadiana, Guadalquivir, Ebro, Júcar and Segura. 
• Watersheds: Atlantic ocean, Cantabrian sea, Mediterranean sea. 
• Parts of a river: source, middle course, lower course, catchment, floodplains, delta, mouth, watershed.

Water cycle

We love experiments! Last one was about the Water Cycle. We have coloured the water blue to see how its state changes. It´s very interesting! 

Projects

Last week we had the two first proyects about healthy habits. Both of them were about inventions and medicine. We loved them!! 

Here are Lucia and Salwa presenting their project. It was very varied and they brought plenty of things to show, like a radiography or anesthesia.

In the photo we can see Nuria and Samara with their project. They talked about interesting facts and information.
